A few important things I want to be upfront about before you dive in:

    Ownership of translations

The translations on this blog are my own original work — the wording, phrasing, and choices I make in rendering the text into English belong to me. However, I want to be absolutely clear: I do not own the original source material in any way. All rights to the original novels, stories, and content belong to their respective authors and publishers.

    Please support the original creators

I wholeheartedly encourage you to purchase the original chapters or volumes, even if you can’t read the language they’re written in. You can use my translations as a reading guide alongside the official release. The creators pour so much of themselves into their work — they deserve your support, and buying their content is the best way to show it.

    Translation quality

My translations are a labor of love, and they make sense to me — but I’m only human! If you find a passage confusing, awkward, or hard to follow, please feel free to reach out and let me know. I appreciate every bit of feedback and will do my best to improve.

    Privacy Policy

    Last updated: 2025

    1. Who we are

This website is a personal, non-commercial translation blog operated by Hoshi, based in the Philippines. It has no organizational affiliation, earns no revenue, and is run entirely as a hobby. For any privacy-related questions, please reach out through the blog’s contact page.

    2. What information is collected

This blog does not actively or intentionally collect personal information from visitors. However, the hosting platform and any embedded third-party tools (e.g., comment systems, analytics widgets) may automatically collect the following data as part of their standard operation:

    • IP addresses and approximate location (country or region level only)
    • Browser type, version, and device information
    • Pages visited, time on site, and navigation patterns
    • Referring URLs (the page or link that brought you here)

Any automatically collected data is used solely to understand general traffic patterns and improve the blog experience. It is not used to identify, profile, or track individual visitors.

    3. Lawful basis for processing (GDPR — EU/EEA readers)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies to how your personal data is handled. Where any personal data is processed in connection with this blog, the lawful basis is one of the following:

    • Legitimate interests — for anonymised analytics data used to understand how the blog is used, where such processing does not outweigh your rights and freedoms.
    • Consent — for any non-essential cookies set by this blog or its hosting platform. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time.
    • Contractual necessity — where you contact me and I need to process your information solely to respond to your inquiry.

As an EU/EEA resident, you hold the following rights under GDPR, which you may exercise at any time by contacting me:

    • Right of access — to request a copy of any personal data held about you.
    • Right to rectification — to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
    • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — to request deletion of your personal data where it is no longer necessary.
    • Right to restriction of processing — to request that processing of your data be limited under certain circumstances.
    • Right to data portability — to receive your personal data in a structured, machine-readable format where applicable.
    • Right to object — to object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time.
    • Right to lodge a complaint — you have the right to file a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority if you believe your rights have been violated.

Please note: as a small personal blog with no commercial operation, formal data protection officer (DPO) appointment is not required; however, I am fully committed to honoring these rights upon request.

    4. California residents (CCPA)

If you are a resident of California, USA, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you specific rights regarding your personal information:

    • Right to know — you may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected about you.
    • Right to delete — you may request deletion of personal information collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
    • Right to opt out of sale — this blog does not sell personal information to third parties. No opt-out mechanism is required, but this is explicitly stated for clarity.
    • Right to non-discrimination — exercising your CCPA rights will not result in any difference in service or treatment.

To exercise any of the above rights, please contact me through the blog. I will respond within 45 days as required.

    5. Philippines readers (Data Privacy Act of 2012)

This blog is operated from the Philippines and is subject to Republic Act No. 10173, also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012, as administered by the National Privacy Commission (NPC). Under this law, any personal information collected is processed lawfully, fairly, and with transparency. You have the right to be informed of what data is collected, to access it, to correct inaccuracies, and to request its deletion. If you believe your rights under Philippine law have been violated, you may file a complaint with the NPC at privacy.gov.ph.

    6. Other international readers

Privacy laws vary across jurisdictions. While this blog is not large enough to be formally subject to every regional framework, the following principles are upheld as a general commitment to all visitors, regardless of location:

    • Personal data is collected only to the minimum extent necessary.
    • Data is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for commercial purposes.
    • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information you have submitted — regardless of where you are located.
    • Requests will be honored to the fullest extent practically possible for a personal, non-commercial blog.

Readers from Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA), South Korea (PIPA), Japan (APPI), Australia (Privacy Act 1988), and other jurisdictions with established privacy frameworks are welcome to reach out with any data-related requests and I will do my best to assist.

    7. Comments & contact

If you leave a comment or send me a message, I may receive your name, email address, and the content of your message. This information is used only to respond to your inquiry and is never shared with third parties. Comment data may be visible publicly on the blog depending on your platform settings — please be mindful of what personal information you include in public comments.

    8. Cookies

This blog may use basic cookies through its hosting platform or embedded tools such as comment plugins. These are typically functional or analytics-related. Where required by law (e.g., for EU/EEA visitors under the ePrivacy Directive), non-essential cookies will only be set with your consent. You may disable or clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, though doing so may affect some site functionality.

    9. Third-party services & embedded content

This blog may occasionally embed content from or link to third-party platforms (e.g., YouTube, social media). These platforms operate under their own privacy policies and may independently collect data when you interact with their content. I have no control over third-party data collection and encourage you to review those platforms’ privacy policies directly.

    10. Data retention

Personal information submitted voluntarily (e.g., via comments or contact messages) is retained only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was provided, or as long as the blog remains active. Automatically collected platform data is subject to the retention policies of the hosting provider. You may request deletion of any personal data you have submitted at any time.

    11. Data security

While this blog is a small personal project and does not store sensitive personal data, reasonable care is taken to ensure that any data handled is done so responsibly. No method of internet transmission is 100% secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security — but I will always act promptly in the event of any suspected data incident.

    12. Children’s privacy

This blog is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 where required by applicable law, such as under GDPR). I do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has submitted personal data through this blog, please contact me and I will take steps to remove it promptly.

    13. Changes to this policy

This privacy policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the blog’s practices or applicable law. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the blog after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. For significant changes, a notice may be posted on the blog’s main page.

    14. Contact & requests

For any privacy-related questions, data access requests, deletion requests, or complaints, please reach out through the blog’s contact page or leave a comment. I aim to respond to all requests within a reasonable timeframe, and no later than 30 days for formal data subject requests.

    Note
